Course Description
Filler Complications in Aesthetic Practice: Recognition, Management, and Prevention
This continuing education course provides a focused, case-based review of filler complications in aesthetic medicine, with an emphasis on early recognition, clinical decision-making, and evidence-informed management. Led by Kristin Dobry, NP, aesthetic nurse practitioner at The Confidence Bar in Chicago and Laser Safety Officer, this session will center on a real-world temple vascular occlusion case study.
Kristin brings extensive experience in injectables, laser and light-based treatments, and complication management, with a strong focus on safety, anatomy, and individualized treatment planning. She is actively involved in complication education and is known for translating complex clinical concepts into practical, real-world application.
Through guided discussion, participants will analyze the progression of a vascular occlusion event, review key anatomical considerations, and explore appropriate intervention strategies. Emphasis will be placed on improving patient safety, reducing risk, and strengthening provider confidence in managing adverse events.
Participants will engage in a structured review of:
Early recognition and assessment of vascular occlusion
High-risk anatomical considerations, including the temple region
Evidence-informed treatment and management strategies
Prevention techniques and safer injection practices
Clinical pearls for real-world application
This course is intended for licensed healthcare professionals involved in aesthetic practice, including RNs, NPs, PAs, and other qualified providers.
